Alicization Lycoris DLC expansion "Matricaria" for Sword Art Online has been announced.

The "Matricaria" downloadable content expansion for Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris has been released by publisher Bandai Namco and developer AQURIA. There was no mention of a release date.

Story

The Dark World We gathered power in order to defend this virtual world and stop the impending collapse. The sword that links emotions, owned by Kirito Everyone gets new power, not only Kirito.

Regardless of the challenge, it can be conquered. The "Final Load Experiment" reaction meeting, which was centred on Cardinal, was under way when abruptly the "Large-Scale Destruction Divine Object Refactoring" went into effect.

The "Hundred Days War"—a conflict that shook the world of humans—begins.

There are 100 days before the end of the world.

New Character: Log

A boy with an eye patch over his right eye. Human, but is simple minded and rough-mannered. He seems to have known Kirito, Eugeo, and Alice for a long time…

In battle, he fights like a beast, wielding a large shield and one-handed axe.

New Weapon: Shield & Axe

A new weapon that can be equipped to Kirito and Log. The “Tank” role serves to gather enemy aggro and defend against attacks, while the “Attacker” role overwhelms the enemy with firepower increased by collected aggro. Contrary to its appearance, the Shield & Axe can also be used for quick, basic attacks.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is available now for for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
