"Shaping the Story" behind-the-scenes video for God of War: Ragnarok

The first instalment of a new "Behind the Scenes" video series for God of War Ragnarok has been made available by God of War Ragnarok's publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Santa Monica Studio. "Shaping the Story" is the title of the opening episode.

According to Santa Monica Studio lead community manager Grace Orlady on the PlayStation Blog, "In the God of War Ragnarok Behind the Scenes series, we will be taking you to the Nine Realms—from Midgard to Asgard (and perhaps a pitstop along the way)." "With each episode, we intend to provide you not only a special viewpoint on the many years of work that went into making this title, but also to bring you insights from many of the team members who have made this possible," the statement reads.

For the next nine weeks, a brand-new episode will be released every Tuesday. Each one will focus on a different area of the game, from developing the plot and improving the combat to composing the music and designing the cinematics. No episode will include any spoilers.

"Our first episode begins much like our tale did, in Midgard, where we'll be talking about the important narrative beats from the previous game that will be present in God of War Ragnarok, as well as how our team approached taking on a sequel that would wrap up the Norse saga," Orlady stated.

On November 9, God of War Ragnarok will be released for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
